3022: TRANSCENDENCE
3022: Transcendence (2022) is a series of photographs that explores the concept of transcending paper from its 2-Dimensional form and transforming it into sculptures in the 3-Dimensional space. These images display paper turning into beings and vibrant landscapes that investigate the elements of scale and colour.
Villanueva was inspired by sci-fi movies such as Blade Runner, Dune, and Star Wars. With his experience in theatre’s lighting and set design, he combined his skills to paint with light, create an atmosphere, and build miniature sets of sublime worlds with paper.
